Professional Impact for the ‘Journeys’ Women’s Network
COSTCO
RESILIENCE & IMPACT FOR WOMEN IN BUSINESS - PERSONAL IMPACT – CONFIDENCE - TEAM BUILDING
90-minute interactive seminar for an audience of 150 women
STORY
As part of their award winning ‘Journeys’ network and it’s commitment to support the personal and professional development of women in the retail industry, Costco asked us to design and deliver an impactful, interactive and memorable seminar as part of an event they were planning for 150 of their female staff.
Women in the network had expressed an interest in training to feel more confident in certain work situations, to get their voice heard and their opinion taken seriously in meetings or when communicating with senior stakeholders.
SOLUTION
We designed the session in collaboration with Sue Knowles, Costco’s HR Director and the creator of the ‘Journeys’ network.
Our seminar introduced the women to the secret techniques actors use to control their physical behaviour in order to look and feel more confident, impactful and powerful in stressful situations. Through experiential exercises we empowered them to be more aware and in control of their own behaviour in real situations in the future.
The seminar needed to be fun and engaging while providing concrete, tangible techniques that the audience could immediately use.
RESULTS
The session proved very popular and delegates felt empowered to apply the new awareness and techniques back in real situations in their roles at work. Seminars like this provide a foundation of a new way of thinking about behaviour and we are working with Sue and Costco to follow up on this sessions with more events for the ‘Journeys’ network across the UK in the near future.
